Let’s Party Sober
Our July 4th BBQ was one for the books! 62 people came and hung out with us @fruitvalleyorchard ! We tried everyone’s favorite bbq snacks, went on orchard walks and adventures, watched no one get hurt on a trampoline (huge feat!), thanked God for iced coffee, and praised Jesus together as a crew to round out the evening!
We are so thankful for this tribe that God has weaved together – every life, story, and relationship is precious in His eyes and we are amazed that we get to do life together! What an amazing and full day!
Huge shoutout and thank you to Wade and Wendy Smith for letting us take over their backyard for the day! We love you guys! Welcome to the Desens crew:)
Chicken BBQ
Karen, George, and Charmaine are total rockstars! They spent many, many hours prepping over 120 delicious meals! Their hard work helped us to raise over $1000 for our residency program!
We are blown away by the love and support from our community!
Thank you so much for supporting us and our mission to set generations free one life at a time!
Game Night
Our first game night of the year was epic.
Shouldn’t every game night have an impromptu sunny rain shower, terrible volleyball, pizza boxes as umbrellas, kanjam tournaments, playground antics, awkward high five hand shakes, and soccer shots?
We were blown away by the crowd, laughs, and banter of a community that shows up and loves & supports each other every day!! This community rocks!
Our friend Amy wrote a blog about game night! Check it out at the Writers Nook!
Desens Open House
“Yesterday’s ribbon cutting at The Desens House was an incredible reminder of how people with a passion who work together toward a shared vision can move mountains. I want to congratulate all the individuals who have been involved in creating this historic day.
I wish this organization nothing but the best in its ongoing mission to help women in recovery rebuild and lead independent lives.”
